“In summer 2019 the office BOARD from Rotterdam won over the jury with its design for the planned residential area on the railway wasteland in Quakenbrück. With the ‘Europa-Quarter’, the city of Quakenbrück wants to realize a model residential development on a three-hectare area on the former railway site – for families, singles, couples, senior citizens and students. Now the probably most ambitious urban design project of the city has reached a decisive phase: the marketing and the search for investors.”
