BOARD (Bureau of Architecture, Research, and Design) is founded by Bernd Upmeyer as an architecture firm that is based on multidisciplinarity and active in many fields: as an architecture and urban design practice, as a research board and as a platform for comparative analysis on urban issues through its bi-annual journal MONU – Magazine on Urbanism.

BOARD’s first office was located in the Delftsestraat 27 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
